Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

November 12 – 20, 2016 was national Hunger & Homelessness Awareness week, and the FCCH is very appreciative of Jeff McCoy from the The Journal who ran a series of articles about homelessness in the Eastern Panhandle.

How Can You Help?

get involved

Help prepare and serve nourishing meals at the many  locations that serve food to the homeless.

Donate food to be distributed to the homeless.

Support the street medicine and free medical care program.

Donate warm clothes in the winter.

Donate sleeping bags, tents, tarps or ground covers.

Provide transportation to medical appointments and jobs.

Encourage landlords to provide safe homes at reasonable rents.

Support our partner organizations that provide counseling and other support services to help our citizens get and keep housing.

Be grateful for our own homes and pray for our homeless neighbors.

Donate funds so FCCH can provide emergency short-term shelter.
