The Joan Roach Fund and the Eastern WV Community Foundation Grant enables FCCH to help adults in extraordinary situations keep their home or find emergency shelter. Recently, FCCH was able to help prevent an eviction for an elderly, disabled woman . She was still in the workforce. Unfortunately, she fell and fractured her hip. Of course she could not work, so she fell behind in her rent. FCCH was able to help prevent the eviction, which gave the lady enough time to get a release from her doctor. She is now back at work. Without FCCH Eviction Prevention funds she would have lost her home. Thank You Joan Roach and the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation. You continue to make a big difference for the needy in our community.

A Huge Thank You Eastern WV Community Foundation and The Fleming Family Fund
The Faith Community Coalition for the Homeless is very grateful to accept 3 grants from the Eastern WV Community Foundation and on behalf of the homeless neighbors/families in our community who will now be able to access emergency shelter when no other shelter is available. One of the 3 grants was from The Fleming Family Fund which is one of EWVCF funds that supports those in need in eastern WV. Our community has many needs and the EWVCF has a thorough process to assess the community needs and evaluate programs in our community. We appreciate their generosity, their guidance and their on-going support for our community.

Christmas Message
At this time of year most of us can quickly bring the picture to our mind of a special homeless child born to teen parents in Bethlehem some 2000+ years ago. This year, the Faith Community Coalition for the Homeless (FCCH) was able to assist 227 homeless individuals in the Eastern Panhandle of WV by providing warm, safe, dry emergency shelter when no other option was feasible. One hundred and eleven of those homeless neighbors were children! FCCH could not have done that without YOU! Your donations of time, treasure and talent made that possible.
We could not have helped our homeless neighbors without grant funding and support from the Eastern WV Community Foundation, Ecolab and United Way of the Eastern Panhandle. They make such an important difference in our community.
And we thank YOU our donors and hard-working volunteers for your service, caring, contributions and prayers.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a peaceful New Year!
from the Faith Community Coalition for the Homeless Board of Directors.
THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY

We had a fun day, good race and lots of warm food. Many homeless will be able to have warm, safe, dry shelter this winter because this community effort.

We need your help…
Thank you for your prayers and on-going support for the homeless in the panhandle of West Virginia.
We are very grateful to the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle Inc. for their support and grant. With their support, our partner organizations, and your support, the Faith Community Coalition for the Homeless (FCCH)was able to assist 52 children and 60 adults secure warm, safe, dry shelter during the first half of 2017. Some examples follow of families we have helped follow:
• A veteran Dad with 3 young children needed a few nights safe with shelter until Telamon was able to get them into more permanent housing.
• A Mom, with at 2 year old and a 4 year old who was a victim of domestic violence, got a safe room and then transfer to a Shenandoah Women’s Center.
• A family stay in a motel for a few days while Bethany House arranged for shelter.
• A family with grandparents, 2 children and a severely handicapped young lady was able to secure temporary housing until the WV Coalition to End Homelessness arranged for a more permanent home.
• A homeless couple with a new born baby needed shelter while Dad worked 2 jobs and saved for a security deposit on their own place.
FCCH volunteers have another opportunity and challenge during the 2nd half of 2017. The Eastern WV Community Foundation has provided a reimbursable grant to help families with children again this year. THANK YOU EWVCF. We are elated and so grateful! The challenge is that we need to raise $5,000 to provide warm, safe, dry shelter for families before the EWVCF can reimburse FCCH. This is a great challenge and opportunity to keep serving homeless families when no other shelter is available. Won’t you please help us match this EWVCF Grant so we can continue to help homeless families? Please ask your church and your friends if they can help and please send your donation today to …
