A single female veteran displaced by domestic violence was living in her car with her service animal and couldn’t access shelters due to medical and service animal needs. After referral from SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families) and 211, we provided a three-night stay while she completed SSVF program entry for permanent housing. We verified her homelessness so she could enter the program.
A single mother of five moved to the area for work, but couldn’t move into available/reserved housing due to lacking an ID—she only had a passport. Needing temporary shelter for her family, she arranged school transportation with a social worker and received three nights of assistance until stable housing was found. CCAP Loaves and Fishes also provided a large bag of easy-to-prepare food.
After job loss caused a family with an 8-year-old to move in with a relative undergoing cancer treatment, they later needed to relocate again. With new jobs, they found affordable housing but required $650 for the deposit and first month’s rent. Jefferson County Community Ministries referred them to FCCH, which enabled their move into stable housing.
A client experienced a fall that necessitated a medical procedure. During her recovery period, she was unable to work and consequently lost wages, resulting in her falling behind on rent and facing potential eviction. Although she had a projected return-to-work date, she could not accumulate the required sum to prevent eviction in time. Referred to us by the Regional Resource Connection (RRC), we provided $1,000.00 towards her overdue rent, successfully preventing eviction.
A woman who relocated to the area for medical reasons, initially moved in with her daughter while seeking stable housing. She applied for Section 8 housing, and her application was accepted. The Regional Resource Connection referred her case to us and requested assistance with the security deposit to facilitate her move into a new unit. We provided the necessary funds. She was able to move into the new unit on the same day.
